Located just south of San Luis Obispo, California, PETS Hospital was founded by two vet school classmates with the primary mission of delivering an exceptional customer experience. They were frustrated with emergency and specialty hospitals that don't take care of their customers and rDVMS, so they decided to do things differently. Our goal was to create a “warm and fuzzy” ER that doesn't feel like a typical emergency room. The experience starts with freshly baked cookies and coffee in the lobby, TV's with Netflix in every room, a cool and calm color scheme, and a staff that was hired based on personality and the love for the job.

Veterinary Assistant
PETS Hospital ER/Urgent Care has openings for Experienced Veterinary Assistants.
Eligible candidates must have small animal veterinary experience and be proficient in obtaining basic medical history, taking vitals, have proficiency in drug dosage calculation, medical terminology and be able to provide exceptional patient care.
In addition you must have excellent people skills, maintain a calm demeanor under pressure and be able to work well as part of a team.
As an emergency facility, most of our shifts are night and swing, including weekends and holidays. Additionally, overnight shifts are paid a $3/hr shift differential. Full time employees receive a comprehensive benefits package including, paid time off, CE and health insurance stipend. We have full and part time positions available.
Our facility is a drug free and smoke free environment. A criminal background check for all employees of veterinary clinics is required for employment by CA state law.
